I’m a fitness professional in my 50s and I’ve been working with Kay for nearly 15 years. I first met her a couple of years after a serious motorbike accident, where after several surgeries, I was told I would have to give up fitness as a profession as I would have to use a stick to help me walk. But working with Kay helped me to regain my fitness and mobility, and to understand more about how to manage physical change and stay healthy... When I saw my surgeon six months after the last surgery he actually couldn’t believe I was walking without a stick, let alone that I was back working as a fitness professional and was clearly on an upward curve where my strength, balance, and control were concerned - he’d actually brought in a physio to measure me for crutches and pencilled me in for a knee replacement! He asked me what my secret was - and so I told him... “I make sure I see an osteopath once a week without fail.” And the he asked me, “Where did this osteopath train, Hogwarts?” That says it all!

I first consulted Kay as an Osteopath for stiffness and pain in my neck. Rather than just looking at my neck, she checked my overall posture and flexibility and discussed my lifestyle and medical history. Her approach is very reassuring, at every stage of the treatment she explained what she was doing and how it could help and using a number of different techniques, including gentle manipulation, exercises and acupuncture quickly relieved my problems. It was clear that a more general rehabilitation programme would be very beneficial and so I signed up for Kay’s Pilates classes. Pilates has quickly become a crucial part of my life; I feel stronger and I’m certainly more aware of my posture and how I use my muscles. The classes are small, we never seem to do the same routine twice and she layers the exercises so that we start with the basics and can add extra elements of difficulty according to ability and weaknesses. Doing Pilates with Kay has made a real difference to my wellbeing, I am more flexible, largely pain free and have tools which I can use between classes to nip any issues in the bud. So, a huge thank you to Kay for the classes and her skill and expertise in keeping them so interesting and varied.

I just wanted to put into words how much the team at Croydon Physio Centre have helped with my rehabilitation. I was advised by my back consultant to trial six weeks of physio with Tim Alladyce and his team. From the start I always felt they were on my side and very much wanted to help me improve. I started by seeing Kay Alladyce a trained Osteopath who also asked if I wanted to join her pilates classes and I've never looked back. The pain eased through treatment and therefore I was able to exercise and through pilates I became more flexible and stronger. I felt every part of my body was being worked. I will just go for maintenance every two months but pilates is with me for life. I no longer go shopping for hours with an aching back. i am basically pain free and if I ever have an issue usually due to my own fault of over doing something, I immediately go for treatment and my back seems to repair and heal quickly. I will be forever grateful to the team for not having to be on pain killers for the rest of my life.

I have known Kay for over three years. She treated me following an injury and I have attended Pilates classes led by her. Her initial assessment was thorough with attention to detail, discussion of the main findings and the proposed treatment plan. Treatment was geared to the presenting symptoms at each session with consequent improvement over the course of treatment. I have found Pilates sessions to be fun, but you work hard! Each session is different and is well thought out. Specific problems of participants are considered during each class; individual attention and correction is given when necessary. For me, the sessions have helped to reinforce good posture and use of core muscles. Kay has a very engaging personality and a keen interest in the health of her clients. I would thoroughly recommend her as a practitioner.

I have found Kay Allardyce to be absolutely on top of her game as an Osteopath and Pilates Instructor. She has improved the quality of my life immeasurably. Her knowledge of MSK issues is awesome and she immediately gets to the root of any problem: even after one session I feel great improvement. Recently she and a colleague kindly reviewed the various scans and tests which I underwent privately last year and the subsequent advice and recommendations were just so helpful. From being fairly immobile and in a lot of pain she has got me jogging 5.5 k three times weekly! I never thought that would be possible. I attend her Pilates classes regularly twice a week and have only missed one or two of them, and then only in an emergency. The Pilates has improved my mobility, posture, everything, and it’s just so mentally uplifting too. Kay is very conscientious and misses nothing, whether in a one to one or a group session. She is endlessly patient, explains everything in her lovely clear voice, and has such an infectious smile and personality. Who could ask for anything more?!

I would highly recommend Kay. I went to see my Doctor with excruciating lower tailbone pain. I could not sit down for long periods of time and it was effecting my life.
